HeartSync in a Nutshell

HeartSync Ministries aims to fulfill Christ's mission to "heal the brokenhearted" by fostering undivided hearts. This enables individuals to "love the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind" (Matthew 22:37-40, Luke 4:17-18a, Isaiah 61:1, Jeremiah 32:39). HeartSync Ministry achieves this by intentionally synchronizing various aspects of the heart and bringing them into full relationship with God.

What Does "Brokenhearted" Mean?

Being brokenhearted refers to any persistent separation within a person's heart, soul, mind, and spirit. This emotional and spiritual captivity hinders the resolution of conflicted beliefs, pain, and trauma, ultimately preventing joyful connection with God and others. To varying degrees, we all experience this "divided heart."

The Four Core Parts of the Heart

Based on personal research by Father Andrew Miller, there are at least four main aspects of the human heart that form our core personality. These correspond directly to different brain organs. Understanding these parts allows us to assess their relationship with God and address any conflicts preventing a loving connection with Jesus.

The four core parts or personality aspects are:

  • Original Self: This is the essence of who we are, with the greatest capacity for connecting with God.

  • Function: This part of the heart and mind handles daily life and often avoids painful memories.

  • Emotion: This aspect is most directly linked to pain, trauma, and unresolved negative emotions.

  • Guardian: This part believes it must keep the Emotion and Function parts separate to prevent the Function part from becoming overwhelmed. Its primary role is to maintain this division.

The HeartSync Approach

The HeartSync approach involves a series of steps designed to bring the heart into alignment with God:

  1. Education: Understanding the principles and concepts of HeartSync.

  2. Confession: Acknowledging and confessing areas of brokenness.

  3. Covering Prayer: A prayer of confession and appeal to Jesus for intervention.

  4. Divine Connection (Immanuel Moment): Experiencing a direct connection with God's presence.

  5. Appreciation (Thanksgiving) Exercise: Practicing gratitude.

  6. Explore: Working with the "Presenting Part" (the part currently experiencing conflict) to resolve issues and spiritual assignments.

  7. Expand: Progressively inviting other Core Parts into relationship with Jesus, resolving conflicts and spiritual assignments until the entire heart is in loving relationship with God.

HeartSync Ministries Statement of Faith

Our Core Beliefs on Healing

We stand firmly on the historic Christian faith as articulated in the Apostles' and Nicene Creeds. From this foundation, we believe that true healing originates from God the Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord, and by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Understanding Brokenness

We believe that the initial act of human disobedience led to pervasive brokenness—impacting us spiritually, relationally, intellectually, emotionally, physically, and societally. Scripture refers to this reality as "the world" and "the flesh."

God's Healing Power Today

We affirm that God's healing power is available in the present day. One of the key indicators of God's kingdom breaking into "this world" is the mending of our broken lives. While physical and emotional healing are significant, we view them within the broader context of salvation, which is the ultimate healing process achieved by God's grace. Temporal healing serves as both a preview and a participation in the eternal healing God will bring about at the "revealing of the sons of God" (Romans 8:19).

The Holy Spirit's Role in Healing

We believe that healing is fundamentally the work of the Holy Spirit. He restores health and wholeness in Jesus' name, guides people into truth, opens hearts to receive the Father's love, and calls us to participate in the transformation of society. Healing is a fruit of the Spirit's work, not merely a result of human techniques; we are entirely dependent on Him.

The Authority of God's Word

We believe that the Bible, God's inspired and authoritative Word, is foundational to His healing work in our lives. The Holy Spirit uses the Word of God to expose falsehoods, reveal truth, and guide His people.

Healing Through the Church

While the Sovereign Lord can heal an individual directly, we believe He most often mediates His healing gifts through the Body of Christ, the Church.

Spiritual Warfare and Unity

We recognize that Christ's Church is engaged in a spiritual battle "against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the Heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). We are most effective in this battle when we are unified under the Headship of Christ. Despite our current divisions, which cause us deep pain, we believe that the unity of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:1) is a spiritual reality. This belief motivates our cooperation in ministry that extends beyond denominational boundaries.
